Family Camp 2018

Every August the Nome Covenant Church gathers out at Salmon Lake for Family Camp. This year we had a shorter weekend, but enjoyed the fellowship, berries, and lovely scenery immensely. IMG_6798

So many blueberries! We picked off and on throughout the day.  Even the babies picked. 😊

Aunie Hope picked her first blues! She had more fun squishing than eating them.

Saturday evening concluded with a campfire, praise songs and s’mores. Many marshmallows were burned in the making of these s’mores, but I’m betting all were devoured.

Part of Family Camp is baptism day! Our church does not have an easy way of immersion baptism in the building, short of some type of inflatable pool.🙂 We fix this issue with lake baptism every Family Camp! This may be one of the colder lakes I’ve put toes into, but Nome-ites are a tough breed.

Nome has a unique type of beauty. I take such delight in the cotton grass blowing in the breeze, short fireweed, and tart blueberries. Even on cloudy days, the green of summer just warms my soul. ❤

Maybe you’ll be here to join us next August? 🙂
